New Year’s Resolutions have never really been my thing, and as far as I’m concerned, January is a terrible month for making them. Nothing says “let’s make a positive change!” like dreary skies, never-ending cold and short days. However, that kind of weather is excellent for snuggling up in a blanket burrito and reading! So let’s skip all the health and wellness blah blah blah that typically accompanies New Year’s Resolutions, and get straight to my bookish goals for the year.
Competitiveness runs in my veins like blood runs in most people’s. So when I signed on to do the 24 in 48 Readathon, I knew it could quickly turn obsessive. And well, yes, it did, BUT I have successfully arrived on the other side with the full 24 hours completed as well as a marriage that is still intact! To my very understanding Husband Unit, thank you for letting me have my weekend of insanity. To everyone who may have seen me walking around glued to my phone or with one earbud in, this is what I was doing. This weekend I decided to embark upon a special kind of insanity and jump into the 24 in 48 readathon! If you’re unfamiliar with it, the idea is to read for 24 hours over the course of 48 hours.
